This is a collection of copies of newspaper articles about Frank Purse. Mrs. Audrey Clawson, Mr. Purse's daughter, sent a scrap book, printed material and picture of her father to the secretary of the Commission. The organization was gathering biographical material covering the lives of former members of the Commission. They copied the information she sent and returned the originals to her.

Frank Purse was born in the mining town of Shason, PA on 12 March 1888 to Margaret (Roos) and John Purse. At the age of 4, he moved to Wilkeson, WA with his parents.
